METACOM is one of the leaders in direct import and warehouse sales of stainless steel products in Bulgaria and across Europe. The company was founded in 1995 by an engineering family and specializes in the trade of stainless steel materials. With a wide range of high-quality products in stock and numerous international partners for flexible direct imports based on client specifications, METACOM is a preferred partner for many end customers, as well as large industrial enterprises in the food, pharmaceutical, chemical, military, and transportation industries.

However, the company faced the challenge of managing its entire workflow. Recognizing the need for change, METACOM turned to PLANA Solutions as a partner to address this.

How did we successfully achieve our shared goal?

At PLANA Solutions, we ensured that the project we designed for METACOM was executed in several stages:

After a thorough analysis and detailed discussions about METACOM's needs, the PLANA Solutions team developed a plan to implement a centralised management system. The goal was to cover all key activities – accounting, finance, inventory management, as well as real-time orders, purchases, and receipts. Additionally, we began work on a complete overhaul of the company's website, which is being built directly within the ERP/CRM system through the Website module.

Our team implemented a modern ERP/CRM system for METACOM, which integrates and optimises all of their key operations.

The system includes a warehouse management module that provides real-time tracking of inventory and facilitates on-site direct purchases at their warehouses. When needed, it also allows for the direct transfer of products between different locations.

The module is designed to enable any company, when ordering from external partners, to quickly and easily add information about various additional costs such as transportation, customs duties, and others. This ensures accurate calculation of product costs in the warehouse, which is essential for effective inventory management.

A manufacturing module was also added, which automates and monitors all processes in their own production facility.

The customised systems allowed for fast and easy pricing of customer quotes, even though the company’s purchases are made from different countries in different currencies – BGN, USD, and EUR.

An accounting management system was introduced, optimising financial processes and simplifying document management.

A contacts and communication module was integrated as well, improving interactions with both suppliers and customers.

We also created an informational website for METACOM, which we built directly within the ERP system, allowing for easy access. Additionally, a "Careers" module will soon be attached, enabling direct connectivity between the company’s job opportunities and the management system for handling submitted documents.

This solution provides METACOM with a fully integrated system that combines sales, warehouse management, and production, significantly improving control and traceability of their operations.

Stage 3: Training and Testing

We successfully conducted a 6-week detailed training for METACOM employees, giving everyone the opportunity to personally experience how the new system works even before its implementation in a test environment. This supported a smooth and seamless transition to the desired change.

All these modules are interconnected and can be used together in real-time from anywhere in the world, thanks to the freedom provided by our cloud-based system.
